Great Barrier Reef, Lady Elliot Island
Lady Elliot Island is located North West of Fraser Island and is the Southern most Edge of the Great Barrier Reef. This magical and very natural Coral Cay has some of the most Spectacular visibility on the reef and offers fantastic snorkelling and diving along with visits by turtles in the summer months, humpback whales in Winter and Spring, and the awesome Mantarays. Many species of migratory birds visit the island also.
Day Tours
Depart Hervey Bay Airport daily at 8:10 am for a 35 minute scenic flight to the Island, with departures at 4:00 pm from the Island giving you 7 hours to explore and enjoy this pristine part of the Great Barrier Reef. Included in your tour cost is a wonderful Buffet lunch that can be enjoyed on the veranda of the restaurant overlooking the Pacific Ocean. A snorkelling tips and tricks lesson in the resort pool is also offered along with a Guided Reef Walk and Bird Walk. Snorkelling equipment, reef walking shoes are provided for your use for the day. Enjoy a trip in the glass bottom boat to the Lighthouse Bommie, included in your day tour, allowing plenty of free time for a snorkel. Be sure to take a look around the Reef Education Centre to learn more about the islands fascinating history and wildlife. Lady Elliot is a magical little piece of unspoilt paradise. Day tours are also available from Bundaberg for the same cost.
